Hunter Biden will be a guest lecturer at Tulane University for a course titled “Media Polarization and Public Policy Impacts” that focuses, in part, on “fake news.”

The son of President Joe Biden is one of nine guest speakers for the class, which focuses on “the current state of the media landscape in the United States and how media polarization, fake news, and the economics of the new business impact public policymaking in Washington, D.C.,” said Fox News, which first reported the story.

Other guest speakers include Dr. Deborah Birx, Fox News analyst Juan Williams, CBS anchor Margaret Brennan and New York Times columnist Bret Stephens.

In the weeks before the 2020 election, many media outlets labeled a New York Post story detailing how Biden helped arrange a meeting between his father and a Ukrainian energy executive as “fake news,” and social media platforms censored the company over the story’s perceived falsity.

Following the elder Biden’s victory, Hunter Biden acknowledged that he was under federal investigation, and that his laptop at the center of the Post’s story could “certainly” have been his, though he added that it may have been stolen or hacked by Russia to spread misinformation.

Tickets to Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s online birthday party fundraiser cost up to $10,000, according to an invitation for the event.

The governor’s “Virtual Birthday and Holiday Reception” includes a price tag of $10,000 for those wishing to attend a private online reception with Cuomo, according to a flier obtained by the New York Post. The high-dollar ticket also includes admission to the main event for friends and acquaintances, according to the flier.

The Democrat’s main online event will feature appearances from Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Stiller, Henry Winkler, Robert DeNiro and Rosie Perez, the Post reported.

The event, which is also a fundraiser for Cuomo, will also charge $5,000 for six friends of the governor to attend, $2,500 for three people, $1,000 per guest to the main reception and $50 for young professionals and activists, according to the flier. The online party follows Cuomo’s actual birthday that was on Dec. 6, when the governor turned 63, the Post reported.

The Democrat shuttered indoor dining in New York City on Friday amid a sharp increase in coronavirus cases throughout the state, according to the New York Times.

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign said Wednesday that the former vice president did not meet with his son, Hunter Biden, and a top executive of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma in 2015 as alleged in a report by the New York Post.

The Post published a copy of an email on Wednesday that was allegedly sent by Vadym Pozharsky, an advisor to Burisma’s board of directors, to Hunter Biden in April 2015 thanking the younger Biden “for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent some time together.” The email was part of what the Post called a “massive trove of data recovered from a laptop computer” that was dropped off at a Delaware computer repair shop in April 2019.

“[W]e have reviewed Joe Biden’s official schedules from the time and no meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place,” Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates told Politico.

The owner of the computer repair shop did not positively identify who dropped the computer off, according to the Post. After nobody came to pick up the laptop after it was serviced, the owner reported the laptop to the FBI and made a copy of the contents in its hard drive before turning it over to authorities in December 2019.

The repair shop owner then gave that copy to a lawyer for former New York Mayor Rudi Giuliani. The Post obtained a copy of the computer’s hard drive in late September from Giuliani after first being informed of its existence in late September by former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.

The Biden campaign noted Giuliani’s known association with Andrii Derkach, a now-sanctioned Ukrainian lawmaker with ties to Russia. Giuliani said in September he worked with Derkach to dig up dirt on the Bidens’ activities in Ukraine.

“The New York Post never asked the Biden campaign about the critical elements of this story,” Bates said. “They certainly never raised that Rudy Giuliani — whose discredited conspiracy theories and alliance with figures connected to Russian intelligence have been widely reported — claimed to have such materials.”

“Investigations by the press, during impeachment, and even by two Republican-led Senate committees whose work was decried as ‘not legitimate’ and political by a GOP colleague have all reached the same conclusion: that Joe Biden carried out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no wrongdoing,” Bates said.

The contents of the laptop’s hard drive are currently under investigation by the Senate Homeland Security Committee, according to Fox News.

“Although we consider those communications to be confidential, because the individual in this instance spoke with the media about his contact with the committee, we can confirm receipt of his email complaint, have been in contact with the whistleblower, and are in the process of validating the information he provided,” Committee Chairman Ron Johnson of Wisconsin told Fox News.

A Salt Lake City police officer who directed his K-9 to attack a black man who had his hands up was charged with aggravated assault Wednesday, the New York Post reported.

Jeffery Ryans, 36, was attacked by officer Nickolas Pearce’s K-9 on April 24, the Post reported. Pearce was charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office after The Salt Lake Tribune published body camera footage of the incident.

Ryans “wasn’t resisting arrest,” Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill said, the Tribune reported. “He certainly wasn’t posing an imminent threat of violence or harm to anyone and he certainly wasn’t concealed. He was fenced in an area and was being compliant.”

Police responded to a 911 call from Ryans’s daughter, according to the Post. She said on the call that Ryans was screaming at and had hit her mother, according to the Post.

Officers were arresting Ryans for violating a protective order issued in December 2019 that prohibited him from being at the home, the Tribune reported. Ryans’s wife reportedly told him that the order had been lifted, so he had moved back in before the incident.

Officers reportedly found him smoking a cigarette in the backyard.

Pearce told Ryans to “get on the ground or you’re going to get bit,” while Ryans knelt to the ground with his hands up in the air, body camera footage shows.

“I’m on the ground! Why are you biting me?” Ryans asked the officer, video shows. Pearce can be heard praising the K-9 named Turco, video shows.

“Why are you guys — ow, what the fuck!? Holy shit!” Ryans said, video shows. “Why the fuck are you biting me!”

Ryans faces charges of domestic assault following the incident, according to the Post.

Pearce said he thought Ryans was gearing up to fight, so he ordered the K-9 to attack, the Tribune reported. The city’s Civilian Review Board found that Pearce violated policy during the incident because Ryans did not try to stand or climb the fence in the video.

Pearce faces up to 15 years in prison if he is convicted, the Tribune reported.

On the first day of classes, a high school teacher in Westchester County issued an assignment that included a comic style strip comparing police officers to slave owners and Ku Klux Klan members, the New York Post reported.

The assignment was part of a chapter on “European Colonization of America,” given by Westlake High School teacher Christopher Moreno to 11th graders on Sept. 8, the Post reported.

The image depicted five versions of the same illustration that depicted one man kneeling on another’s neck, according to a picture of the assignment obtained by the Post. Types of men shown kneeling included a slaver, a KKK member, and a police officer.

Captions under the pictures said “white only” and “I can’t breathe,” according to the picture. The assignment asked students to “describe the goals of the Black Lives Matter movement,” and whether or not they agreed with the movement.

“My daughter showed me the paper. I said, `What is this?! You’ve got to be kidding me!’” Ania Paternostro, the mother of a student at Westlake said, the Post reported.  “This cartoon compares the police to the KKK. It’s an attack on the police.”

Paternostro said she sent letters addressing the assignment to Mount Pleasant School District Superintendent Kurt Kotes and Westlake Principal Keith Schenker, the Post reported.

“Enough is enough,” she said, the Post reported. “This cartoon is disturbing. We have to respect the men in blue who protect us,” Paternostro added. “We don’t need a teacher brainwashing my kids. I’ll teach my kids about what’s right and what’s wrong.”

Paternostro’s daughter Nicole expressed concerns about the assignment, saying she thought it was one-sided and anti-police, the Post reported. Nicole said she has been bullied and called racist on social media since expressing her opinion on the assignment.

“The cartoon was disgusting,’’ Nicole said, the Post reported. “It compared the police with all the terrible people in history. It was not fair. It wasn’t right.’’

Kotes sent a letter to the parents of students in Moreno’s class which promised an “investigation” into the assignment, the Post reported.

“I want to address an issue that I have recently been advised is of deep concern to many members of our community,’’ Kotes said, the Post reported. “Specifically, I have been advised that one of our High School teachers may have recently conducted a lesson that many have deemed to be highly controversial in the current climate.”

Kotes added that he would update the community once the investigation concludes, the Post reported.

Steve Kardain, a retired Mt. Pleasant police officer and former New York City Department of Investigations prober called the assignment a “smack in the face to law enforcement,” the Post reported. “It’s an absolutely a smear of the police,” Kardian said.

“Parents don’t send their children to school to learn to hate America and our police,” Former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino said, the Post reported.

“Our schools should be a place for the open exchange of ideas, not political indoctrination,” Astorino said, the Post reported. “The false narratives and brainwashing has to stop.”

A man drove through a group of Black Lives Matter protesters in New York City on Tuesday after they threatened to slash his tires, the New York Post reported.

Protesters at a Black Lives Matter march built a bicycle blockade to stop traffic while the demonstration moved through the intersection of 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue on Tuesday night, the Post reported. The protesters encircled an SUV that was attempting to get through.

One protester allegedly punctured the SUV’s tire, the Post reported. The driver accelerated and hit several bikes. No injuries were reported.

“There was a skater in front…the driver was being aggressive,” Mary, a self-identified organizer, told the Post. “[The skater] tried to make him understand that we weren’t going to be long.”

Mary did not give the Post her last name.

“My man, we’re gonna pop your tire bro,” a man blocking the car said, according to the Post.

“Pop his tire, pop his f*cking tire,” another protester can be heard saying in the video before the driver accelerates through the group.

The driver was pulled over by police shortly after the incident and told officers he felt threatened by the protesters, the Post reported. The driver was reportedly taken to the Manhattan South Precinct, though he was not arrested.

The Manhattan South Precinct did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

North Carolina Man Who Asked A Black Woman For Her ID Loses Job

A chairman of a private neighborhood pool in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, lost his job at Sonoco Paper Products after a black woman claims he profiled her at the pool on July 4, according to a report by the New York Post.

Adam Bloom, a white employee of the community pool ID’d Jasmine Edwards while she was visiting the pool with her baby son to prove that she was a resident of the neighborhood since only people who live there are allowed entry.

Bloom worked for the Glenridge Homeowners Association and is required to ask residents for their ID, typically doing so “pretty much a couple times a week,” he told the New York Post on Thursday.

When he asked Edwards for her ID and she could not present one, he reported her to local police, even though she did have a resident pool card, which allowed her access to the pool.

Edwards caught the scenario on camera and posted the video to Facebook.

Since the video went viral with nearly five million views, Bloom has resigned as pool chair, and from his post on the board of the homeowners association. His former employer, Sonoco, also confirmed via Facebook that Bloom’s actions “does not reflect the core values of our Company, and the employee involved is no longer employed by the Company in any respect.” Sonoco declined to comment on whether he was fired or resigned himself, according to reports by the Winston-Salem Journal.

“I feel this is racial profiling,” Edwards says in the video to police officers that responded to the incident. “I am the only black person here with my son, and he walked all the way to me, to ask for my ID. He asked for my address. I give it to him, and then he came back and said, ‘Well, I didn’t catch your address correctly. Can you provide an ID to prove the address that you gave to me?’ And I said, ‘Why do I have to show my ID? Is there an ordinance in the neighborhood?’”

The cops reasoned with Edwards to diffuse the situation and said “If she has a card to get in the pool, I believe that should be enough.”

Bloom proceeds to insist she swipe her access card to make sure it works which it does.

Bloom says he pursued Edwards for identification after another pool member asked him to validate that she was really a resident.

“He had a pool member come to him and say ‘this person doesn’t appear to be a pool member’ and asked to check their credentials, as he’s required to do so,” Bloom’s attorney, John Vermitsky said to the New York Post. “[Edwards] became loud and confrontational, and he wanted to make sure that the situation was handled properly.”

The homeowner’s association has instituted a sign-in sheet to pool-goers so that “no resident feels singled out again,” according to a statement on Friday.

A source, reporting to Fox News, has come out to say that the decision by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Justices (DOJ), to not indict Democratic Presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, for her handling of a private email server while serving as the Secretary of State, as well as the mishandling of classified documents which would have been on said server.

“No trial level attorney agreed, no agent working the case agreed, with the decision not to prosecute — it was a top-down decision,” said the source who is described as an official close to the Clinton case.

The source, who spoke to Fox News on the condition of anonymity, said FBI Director James Comey’s dramatic July 5 announcement that he would not recommend to the Attorney General’s office that the former secretary of state be charged left members of the investigative team dismayed and disgusted. More than 100 FBI agents and analysts worked around the clock with six attorneys from the DOJ’s National Security Division, Counter Espionage Section, to investigate the case.

A high-ranking FBI official told Fox News that while it might not have been a unanimous decision, “It was unanimous that we all wanted her [Clinton’s] security clearance yanked.”

“It is safe to say the vast majority felt she should be prosecuted,” the senior FBI official told Fox News. “We were floored while listening to the FBI briefing because Comey laid it all out, and then said ‘but we are doing nothing,’ which made no sense to us.”

Fox News did reach out to the FBI for comment, however they were evidently redirected to previous public statements that FBI Director James Comey had made in the past, where he denied any political motive was involved in the decision.

“I know there were many opinions expressed by people who were not part of the investigation – including people in government – but none of that mattered to us,” Comey said July 5  in announcing the FBI’s decision on the Clinton emails. “Opinions are irrelevant, and they were all uninformed by insight into our investigation, because we did the investigation the right way. Only facts matter, and the FBI found them here in an entirely apolitical and professional way.”

According to senior judicial analyst for Fox News Judge Andrew Napolitano, many law enforcement agents involved with the Clinton email investigation have similar beliefs.

“It is well known that the FBI agents on the ground, the human beings who did the investigative work, had built an extremely strong case against Hillary Clinton and were furious when the case did not move forward,” said Napolitano. “They believe the decision not to prosecute came from The White House.”

Napolitano’s claims are backed up by a New York Post (NYP) piece which also came out this week, in which multiple veteran FBI agents saying, “has permanently damaged the bureau’s reputation for uncompromising investigations with his cowardly whitewash of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information using an unauthorized private email server.”

Other comments from the NYP story include,

“The FBI has politicized itself, and its reputation will suffer for a long time. I hold Director Comey responsible,” Dennis V. Hughes, the first chief of the FBI’s computer investigations unit.

“Comey has singlehandedly ruined the reputation of the organization.” Michael M. Biasello, retired FBI agent.

Mentioned in the Fox News article also was the idea that Comey may have based his decision that a recommendation to charge would not have been followed by DOJ prosecutors.

“Basically, James Comey hijacked the DOJ’s role by saying ‘no reasonable prosecutor would bring this case,’” the Fox News source said. “The FBI does not decide who to prosecute and when, that is the sole province of a prosecutor — that never happens.”

Napolitano has also mentioned that he believes the FBI was hampered from the start, since there was no grand jury, and no search warrants or subpoenas issued.

“The FBI could not seize anything related to the investigation, only request things. As an example, in order to get the laptop, they had to agree to grant immunity,” Napolitano said.

Beyond the apparent internal struggle happening at the FBI and DOJ, newly released emails via Wikileaks from Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta show that Clinton’s staff may have had access to Justice Department employees during her ongoing investigation, which may have helped her and her staff receive favorable treatment.

According to The Daily Caller, House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte along with other House Republican members, called for a probe to investigate “the special treatment given to key witnesses during the investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s unauthorized use of a private email server to send and receive classified information.”
