Hunter Biden will be a guest lecturer at Tulane University for a course titled “Media Polarization and Public Policy Impacts” that focuses, in part, on “fake news.”

The son of President Joe Biden is one of nine guest speakers for the class, which focuses on “the current state of the media landscape in the United States and how media polarization, fake news, and the economics of the new business impact public policymaking in Washington, D.C.,” said Fox News, which first reported the story.

Other guest speakers include Dr. Deborah Birx, Fox News analyst Juan Williams, CBS anchor Margaret Brennan and New York Times columnist Bret Stephens.

In the weeks before the 2020 election, many media outlets labeled a New York Post story detailing how Biden helped arrange a meeting between his father and a Ukrainian energy executive as “fake news,” and social media platforms censored the company over the story’s perceived falsity.

Following the elder Biden’s victory, Hunter Biden acknowledged that he was under federal investigation, and that his laptop at the center of the Post’s story could “certainly” have been his, though he added that it may have been stolen or hacked by Russia to spread misinformation.

A Jimmy John’s restaurant in Georgia has fired multiple employees after a video was posted to online that appears to show the employees staging a mock lynching, the company announced Monday.C

The video, posted by Atlanta CBS 46 Sunday, appears to show 4 employees laughing while one male employee holds dough, in the shape of a noose, open so a second male employee can put his head through the hole.

Another employee pulled the dough up, while it was around the neck of the second employee, imitating a hanging, the video shows. The video, first recorded on SnapChat, has a “Happy Fourth of July” sticker at the bottom.

“As soon as we were alerted to the video, we notified our franchisee, who quickly investigated and terminated all employees involved,” Jimmy Johns said in the statement. “The franchisee is also meeting with their team to conduct training to help prevent anything like this from happening again.”

A Jimmy John’s spokesperson declined to comment beyond the statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

–  Journalist Megyn Kelly spoke to the woman accused of accessing ABC’s Amy Robach leaked video Friday.

–  The woman, Ashley Bianco, was fired from her brand-new job at CBS News after ABC executives contacted the network and informed them of the situation.

–  Bianco told Kelly that she is not the leaker and she never accessed the video after originally clipping it, a process that she said they did all the time.

Journalist Megyn Kelly spoke to ABC’s alleged whistleblower during an exclusive interview posted on her Instagram account Friday, and the woman denied being the whistleblower.

ABC’s Amy Robach was caught on camera saying the network killed her interview with Jeffrey Epstein’s accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, according to a video Project Veritas released Tuesday. The anchor said Buckingham Palace threatened ABC News after finding out Prince Andrew was a part of the story and added that she “had all of” the reporting years ago. Epstein was accused of sex-trafficking children.

The woman who has been accused of having access to the tape is former ABC News producer Ashley Bianco, 25, who spoke to Kelly in an exclusive interview after CBS News fired her Wednesday. She worked at CBS for just four days after leaving ABC before being fired, she told Kelly. Executives at the outlet allegedly informed CBS of the situation prior to her firing, journalist Yashar Ali reported.

“It wasn’t me, I’m not the whistleblower. … The leaker’s still inside,” Bianco said.

“They [Project Veritas] released the video, and you know I was shocked, but I didn’t think anything of it,” Bianco said in the tearful interview. She admitted to clipping the video for “office gossip,” but said she had no intention of embarrassing ABC or Robach.

“I’m a good employee, I’ve worked seven days a week. I loved my job,” Bianco said.

She added that they clip moments off “all the time” and said she never re-watched the video after clipping it. Bianco said she “never even heard of Project Veritas” before the video came out, and Project Veritas has come out and said that Bianco was not the person who leaked the video, Kelly reported Friday.

“I didn’t touch it. I didn’t do anything else to it. I never went back to it,” Bianco said as she tearfully denied releasing the video.

Kelly teased the interview Thursday on Twitter and with her first Instagram post Friday morning. In a preview on Twitter Friday afternoon, Bianco said that at first, she had no idea why she was fired from CBS News.

“I begged, I pleaded, I didn’t know what I’d done wrong,” Bianco said. “And, you know, I just … I wasn’t even given the professional courtesy to defend myself. I didn’t know what I’d been accused of. It was humiliating. It was devastating.”

After the video leaked Tuesday, ABC News confirmed in a statement that it was trying to find the source of the leak. It is not known if Bianco leaked the video, but the network allegedly had knowledge she had access to the tape. Bianco said she had no idea why she was fired and denied leaking the video.

“We take violations of company policy very seriously, and we’re pursuing all avenues to determine the source of the leak,” an ABC spokesperson said, according to Ali.

ABC News denied killing the story due to pressure from powerful individuals and said Tuesday that “not all of our reporting met our standards to air.” It added that “we have never stopped investigating the story.” The outlet said it has a team dedicated to investigating the allegations against Epstein and that “a two-hour documentary and 6-part podcast” will air in 2020.

Robach also walked back her comments, attributing them to a moment of frustration. She said in a statement Tuesday that the interview with Giuffre “didn’t air because we could not obtain sufficient corroborating evidence to meet ABC’s standards.”

Bianco appears to have deleted her Twitter and LinkedIn following being fired from CBS News.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said losing to President Donald Trump was like losing to a “corrupt human tornado.”

Clinton spoke about losing the 2016 presidential election in a CBS interview that will air Sunday morning.

“It was like applying for a job and getting 66 million letters of recommendation and losing to a corrupt human tornado,” Clinton told CBS’s Jane Pauley.

The interview will also feature Chelsea Clinton as the mother and daughter discuss the book they co-authored, “The Book of Gutsy Women,” set to publish Oct. 1.

The book will tell the stories of women who have inspired the Clinton women – “women with the courage to stand up to the status quo, ask hard questions, and get the job done.”

“This book is the continuation of a conversation the two of us have been having since I was little,” wrote Chelsea Clinton, according to the book’s Amazon description. “For me, too, my mom was a hero; so were my grandmothers. My early teachers were also women.”

“But I grew up in a world very different from theirs,” the Clinton daughter added. “My pediatrician was a woman, and so was the first mayor of Little Rock who I remember from my childhood. Most of my close friends’ moms worked outside the home as nurses, doctors, teachers, professors, and in business. And women were going into space and breaking records here on Earth.”

Scott Pelley, the now former evening news host at CBS, led a segment on the congressional shooting by questioning if it was “self-inflicted.”

Pelley officially ended his tenure as the CBS evening news anchor Friday, but did not leave before getting one last jab in against Republicans and the president. Pelley asks whether the act was “foreseeable, predictable and to some degree, self-inflicted.”

Pelley’s bolsters his argument using an attack against the left, like when a man entered a pizzeria with an AR-15 and hand gun intent on “investigating a conspiracy theory” about about Democrats harboring sex slaves there, later dubbed “pizzagate.” No one was harmed, and the shooter later indicated that it was not his intent to hurt anyone.

Pelley devoted one short sentence to the GOP shooter’s support for Bernie Sanders before focusing exclusively President Donald Trump’s tweet referring to the media as the “enemy of the people,” and recounting his response to reporters that language inciting violence did not “worry” him.

The establishment media has been caught red handed once again, attempting to politicize a tragedy and flaccidly inferring that a shooter’s targeting of Republican congress members is somehow “self-inflicted” due to their own political rhetoric.

It comes with little surprise that NewsBusters named Scott Pelley as the most anti-Trump news anchor on TV, perhaps why Pelley’s ratings have been so abysmal, leading to his eventual exit as the evening news anchor on CBS.

House Speaker Paul Ryan shut down CBS congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes after she tried to debate President Donald Trump’s immigration ban during House Republicans’ Tuesday press conference.

“Mr. Speaker, when you do a cost benefit analysis, people from these countries haven’t carried out deadly terrorist attacks here in the United States since 9/11,” Cordes asked Ryan. “You have a lot of military experts, intelligence experts warning that this is going to serve as a recruiting tool for ISIS. Are you sure that this is going to make America more safe, not less safe?”

WATCH:

“The rhetoric surrounding this could be used as a recruiting tool, and I think that’s dangerous,” said the Speaker.

Ryan then went on to explain that that the seven countries named in the ban were actually designated as high-risk by the Obama administration before being interrupted.

“But they weren’t calling for a ban,” Cordes interjected.

“These countries were named by the Obama administration,” he then pointed to “an issue with respect to terrorists trying to infiltrate our refugee population,” before Cordes cut him off again.

“But they haven’t been able to, partly because our vetting is so strenuous,” the congressional correspondent explain.

“We’re not here to debate,” he told Cordes. “We’re here to answer your questions.”

“There is nothing wrong with taking a pause and making sure we have the proper vetting standards in place so that we do not have a problem like France had with Paris.”

Sen. John McCain is convinced that Russia was involved in the hacking of various Democratic party email accounts and servers.

There is “no doubt about the hacking,” McCain said Monday while appearing on “CBS This Morning.” He referred to the intrusions as “another form of warfare.” McCain noted that the Senate Committee on Armed Services, which he chairs, will be involved in the congressional inquiry into the allegations. The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence are also participating in the inquiry.

The wide-sweeping congressional inquiry will be held in conjunction with a thorough investigation President Barack Obama ordered. The White House aims to complete the investigation before President-elect Donald Trump enters office Jan. 20, with the intention of declassifying as much of the final report as possible.

“We don’t want to point a finger, and I don’t want this to turn into the Benghazi investigation,” said Sen. Chuck Schumer, who joined McCain on CBS. “This is serious stuff.”

Central Intelligence Agency officials told lawmakers last week that they had “high confidence” Russia was involved in hacking the election in President-elect Donald Trump’s favor. That said, a senior counter intelligence official at the Federal Bureau of Investigation told lawmakers they did not agree with the CIA’s conclusion.

“There is no clear evidence — even now,” Rep. Devin Nunes, head of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, told the Washington Post. “There’s a lot of innuendo, lots of circumstantial evidence, that’s it.”

The government investigation will not only include the 2016 election, but also those held in 2012 and 2008.

“These agencies will have to take a look at what we saw in 2008, 2012 and 2016,” Eric Schultz, the deputy White House press secretary, told reporters Friday. “This is going to be a deep dive. This is a review that will be broad and deep at the same time. They’re going to look at where the activity leads them to look at.”

The post McCain Calls Alleged Russian Hacking Of The Election A Form Of “Warfare” appeared first on The Libertarian Republic.

According to a report out of the The Business Standard News (BizStandard), quoting from an his interview with The Conservative Chronicle, former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan, is feeling nostalgic about the 1950’s America where, as he puts it, different races “knew their place.”

“Back in the ‘50s everyone knew their place, whites over here, blacks over here, Mexicans over here and the women were at home raising the kids,” said Buchanan. “Things functioned better when everyone understood where they needed to be.”

This is not the first time that Buchanan has made controversial remarks, or even the first time he has looked back fondly on times of racial segregation and discord.

In 1983, Buchanan wrote in a column and spoke to his view point of women stating, “Women are simply not endowed by nature with the same measures of single-minded ambition and the will to succeed in the fiercely competitive world of Western capitalism, women deserve an equal chance at the starting line. But, for women, there is an honorable and honored exit from the rat race – home, hearth and family.”

In regards to fondness for racial divide, beyond his latest comments, he has said this on National Public Radio (NPR),

RACHEL MARTIN (HOST): A decade ago, you wrote in your book, State of Emergency, on the issue of immigration, speaking of the world changing and America changing, you wrote that “if we do not get control of our borders, by 2050, Americans of European descent will be a minority in the nation their ancestors created and built.” Do you still stand by that statement? And do you think ideas like that resonate?

PAT BUCHANAN: I would amend it. That period will be reached in 2042, now, or 2041. So we’re about 25 years away from the fact where Americans of European descent will be a minority in the United States.

MARTIN: Why do you see that as a problem?

BUCHANAN: Well, because I look at Europe and I look all over the world, and I see peoples everywhere at each others’ throats over issues of ethnicity and identity. Again, the United States of America — we had an enormous success, we had high immigration from 1890 to 1920. Then we had a timeout where all those folks from eastern and southern Europe were assimilated and Americanized. They learned English. I went to school with the sons and daughters of these folks, and we created a really united country where 97 percent of us spoke English in 1960. Now, in half the homes in California, people speak a language other than English in their own homes. Anybody that believes that a country can be maintained that has no ethnic core to it or no linguistic core to it, I believe is naive in the extreme.

MARTIN: But you understand how that language feels very incendiary to many people?

BUCHANAN: I don’t care how that language sits with people. My job is not to make people happy, it’s to tell the truth as I see it.

MARTIN: Explain to me what having a diverse cultural identity and a diversity of languages, how that undermines the American identity. I think it’s important to try to understand why you think that this is such a threat.

BUCHANAN: Well first, it seems that the American people tend to agree with us, does it not?

MARTIN: But, what you are laying out is an America that is white, or if not exclusively white.

BUCHANAN: It’s an America like the country I — It’s an America like the country I grew up in, which was a pretty good country.

MARTIN: So how do you make that case in 2016?

BUCHANAN: Well, first off, the voters, apparently, in the Republican Party, have voted pretty conclusively for Donald Trump. And we’re going to find out in the fall whether he has won it with the nation. Because, I think Hillary Clinton will raise the issue that she disagrees with him sharply on this.

It appears that some of the Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump’s supporters see the campaign slogan of “Make America Great Again,” as a reference to the sentiments sent forth by Buchanan’s words.

On CBS’s Face The Nation, a Nevada voter and supporter of Trump said that she wanted to the country to return to a past era of “moral values.”

“I think that the laws that Obama has passed, the way the country has — I call it down turning. Some of the other people are proud of it and happy for it. I personally am against it, the homosexuals, the abortions. All the stuff, I am against,” she said.

For weeks now, whistle blower publication site Wikileaks has been releasing some pretty damning emails pertaining to the Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and the deceit from within her campaign. These emails, from the server of campaign  chairman John Podesta, contained everything from bad mouthing former Democratic rival, Bernie Sanders, to once hidden transcripts of Clinton’s paid speeches to Wall Street where she was a bit more honest about her political ambitions.

In a newer revelation however, it appears that in 2015, 3 years after the 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) to allow the mandate in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to stand as a “tax,” thanks to a last minute switch of opinion by Chief Justice John Roberts, may have been caused by strong arm Tammany Hall style tactics from the White House. In an email to Clinton aide Jake Sullivan and Director of Communications Jennifer Palmieri, and Podesta himself, the CEO of the liberal Center for American Progress, Neera Tanden, a Clinton ally, spoke about the “critical” part the pressure placed on Roberts played in his change of opinion.

“It is most likely that this decision has already been made by the Court, but on the off chance that history is repeating itself, then it’s possible they are still deciding (last time, seems like Roberts went from striking the mandate to supporting it in the weeks before). As Jennifer will remember, it was pretty critical that the President threw the gauntlet down last time on the Court, warning them in the first case that it would politicize the role of the Court for them to rule against the ACA. As a close reader of the case, I honestly believe that was vital to scaring Roberts off.”

As The Daily Wire reported, there were some who already believed that Roberts may have been influenced by the President and even the media, Jan Roberts of CBS News mentioned,

“…as Roberts began to craft the decision striking down the mandate, the external pressure began to grow. Roberts almost certainly was aware of it…As chief justice, he is keenly aware of his leadership role on the court, and he also is sensitive to how the court is perceived by the public…There were countless news articles in May warning of damage to the court–and to Roberts’ reputation–if the court were to strike down the mandate.”

With all of the information coming from Wikileaks regarding the tactics used by the Clinton campaign, including people with vast ties to the White House, it not a large stretch to wonder if the political machines would try such a thing. After all, in 2012, President Barack Obama did release a scathing statement regarding the ACA, specifically targeting the more conservative justices on the SCOTUS saying,

“For years, what we’ve heard is the biggest problem on the bench was judicial activism or the lack of judicial restraint, that an unelected group of people would somehow overturn a duly constituted and passed law. Well, there’s a good example, and I’m pretty confident that this court will recognize that, and not take that step.”

Roberts did release his own statements which tried to shed a bit of light on the ruling saying, “We don’t work as Democrats or Republicans, and I think it’s a very unfortunate impression the public might get from the confirmation process.” His statement does however, leave some room to question whether or not his need to appear apolitical, on top of the pressure from larger entities could’ve influenced his opinion. A situation, which is at least assumed to be the truth by Neera Tanden.

In fact, Tanden saw the tactics as being so critical that when King V. Burwell, the second ruling on the ACA made by the SCOTUS was being decided, she wished to apply similar tactics to Roberts again,

“In this case, I’m not arguing that Hillary spend a lot of time attacking the Court. I do think it would be very helpful to all of our interest in a decision affirming the law, for Roberts and perhaps Kennedy to see negative political consequences to ruling against the government.

Therefore, I think it would be helpful to have a story of how progressives and Hillary would make the Supreme Court an election issue (which would be a ready argument for liberals) if the Court rules against the government. It’s not that you wish that happens. But that would be the necessary consequence of a negative decision…the Court itself would become a hugely important political issue.”

As reported by The Daily Wire, Sullivan had replied to Tandem saying, “”I’m into it but defer to Jen [Palmieri] on this one.” Jennifer Palmieri responded, saying: “She has already been making this an issue. Not sure how in depth you are suggesting but seems like this should be manageable.”

Palmieri then added Clinton press secretary, Brian Fallon, to the conversation. Fallon shot back: “Neera, I can give folks the nod if you want to direct whoever you guys pitch to me.”

In the end, Roberts again sided with the liberal justices of the court, and while there is no way to know what was in the Chief Justice’s heart at the time, the tactics spoken about and the constant scandal leaking from the pores of the Clinton campaign and others closely connected to them are making it harder and harder to believe that it is all just coincidence, and not tactics of a larger political machine.
