As governments, businesses, financial institutions, environmental groups, and the radical left are consumed with anxiety over climate change, they seem to ignore every other issue confronting humanity. Or—is their use of climate change a false narrative to hide their real intent? The recent baffling actions by governments in Sri Lanka and the Netherlands point to the establishment of “New Green Republics.”

In the United States, the Biden administration just took a big step toward creating a New Green Republic with the passage of the falsely titled “Inflation Reduction Act.”  This new law may not reduce inflation, but by pumping another $370 billion into the economy, it sets the cornerstone for the new Republic.

Will these new republics be utopias or dictatorships? While only time will tell, a few places on earth are giving us a glimpse of the future.

Sri Lanka is an island nation off the coast of India. It had been rebuilding itself for decades after years of authoritarian rule. Its agriculture yield had so dramatically increased it had become a middle-income nation until its government banned the use of fertilizers for growing crops. The nation quickly became a nightmare with people starving, a third of its land dormant, crop yields cut in half, energy shortages, and skyrocketing inflation. The people revolted.

At the same time, the Netherlands government announced plans to cut nitrogen and ammonia emissions, thereby forcing thousands of family farms to be closed. Another baffling move since Dutch farmers are the second largest food exporters in the world. The farmers launched protests similar to the Canadian truckers. The protests are ongoing.

Across the world, green governments are seeking to ban new factory farms, pesticides, and even the use of pesticides on private property, beef, turkey, chicken, and cheese. Environmentalists are even organizing a revolution against factory-made food. To some, the entire food system is a threat to the environment.

Several commentators attribute Sri Lanka’s fall to its president “being under the spell of western green elites peddling organic agriculture and seeking a high ESG” (Environment, Social and Governance) rating. Sri Lanka has a near-perfect ESG score of 98. The U.S. has a 51, down with Cuba and Bulgaria. The Netherlands has a 90.7 ESG score.

These woke-type governments are choosing “climate and ESG goals at the expense of feeding their populations and enabling citizens to keep their homes warm during the winter.” The Biden administration is also obsessed with following this path.

An ESG score is a numerical measure of how a corporation or country is perceived to perform on a wide range of environmental, social, and governance topics. The operative word in the definition is “perceived.” Unfortunately, there is a gap between what is real and what is perceived. An ESG score is simply a branding effort by authoritarian governments to secure money from international organizations.

This is where government decision-making becomes baffling. An ESG rating “explains” how a nation’s risk factors impact the long-term sustainability of the economy.  Why would a country with a growing economy and high ESG rating intentionally ban pesticides and harm the economy and health of its people? Why would the Biden administration want to eliminate fossil fuels and the 6,000 essential products made from its components to sabotage the living standards of Americans?

When decisions simply do not make sense, they simply do not make sense.

Decisions to throw a nation into turmoil actually conflict with the theoretical goal of ESG, which is to help investors assess the sustainability of a country. A nation in chaos is not sustainable under any circumstances. These arbitrary decisions more closely resemble decisions made by Caligula, the Roman emperor who gave his horse a majestic house and, to prove his absolute power, sought to appoint the horse to the high office of consul before being assassinated.

A “spell” to protect the environment should cause the bewitched ruler to protect the environment; while destroying the means to produce food or energy, the ruler forces the nation into chaos, perhaps revolution. Both outcomes destroy the environment. There must be a more existential reason.  Either it is a drive to form a utopia, or it’s the implementation of the radical environmental community’s long-held belief that humanity is a cancer on the earth, and must go.

Finding utopia has been a dream of philosophers for centuries. Their dreams are structured around a beneficial elite; religious dogma, science, communism, or totalitarianism.

If the ruler takes the utopian path, it would have to take the path described by some as the “Great Reset.”  ESG would become a “social credit system to drive ownership and production away from the non-woke or non-compliant.” It is a system in which profitable monopolies and the state rule by controlling data, artificial intelligence, genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics. Humans would only know what the elite allow them to know. All human thought would be controlled by the elite.

The major problem with the utopian model is the difficulty of feeding seven billion humans. The elite would have to develop a massive food production system which would be extremely expensive, especially with bans on pesticides and many foods. It would literally require the enslavement of much of the population. Since the cost of supporting billions of people in utopia is too high, the elite need an easier plan to control humans.

Plan B is the plan the radical community has written about for a century, the mass reduction of humans. The Left’s Little Red Book on Forming a New Green Republic is a collection of quotations from the radical left that supports this view in their own words.

The famous undersea explorer, Jacque-Yves-Cousteau noted, “It’s terrible to have to say this. The world population must be stabilized and to do that, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day This is so horrible to contemplate that we shouldn’t even say it. But the general situation in which we are involved is lamentable.”

One of the wishes of Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, President of the World Wildlife Fund International was “If I were reincarnated, I would wish to be returned to earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels.” And, our college-age students are being taught that government must focus on reducing the world population by at least 80%.

Perhaps the most honest discussion of humans being cancer on the earth is presented in a 2019 essay in “Culturico,” a Swiss Cultural platform that bills itself as fighting misinformation. “Culturico” compares humans to cancer cells. The environment is our host, and humans’ selfish, harmful actions are destroying the host, just as a tumor would destroy living organisms in our body. The platform goes through the five steps of how tumors spread cancer. The essay ends with the question, “Can we conclude that humans are a cancer? Yes, we are.”

If the environmental community believes its own writings, and there is no reason to doubt its beliefs, its long-term goal is to radically reduce the human population on this planet.

So, the next time some ruler—be it president, minister, or chief—performs a baffling act that harms a large number of people for some inexplicable reason, ask yourself what the ruler’s real intentions are. The ruler may be stupid, evil, or power-hungry, but the ruler may also be following the elite’s playbook of wanting humans gone so they can inhabit the earth without us cancer cells threatening their reign of the planet.

The terrorists who carried out the Sri Lanka Easter bombings were likely acting in “retaliation” for a New Zealand mosque shooting in March, Sri Lanka’s government said according to The Wall Street Journal.

“The preliminary investigations have revealed that what happened in Sri Lanka [on Sunday] was in retaliation for the attack against Muslims in Christchurch,” Sri Lankan defense minister Ruwan Wijewardene told parliament, according to The New Indian Express. Wijewardene did not explain the allegation further or describe the nature of the evidence, WSJ reports.

The Sri Lankan government suspects a local jihadist cell, National Thowheeth Jamath (NTJ), of coordinating an attack by seven suicide bombers on a number of Christian churches and hotels across the country on Easter Sunday. The attacks killed around 300 people and left more than 500 injured.

In March, a 28-year-old Australian gunman attacked two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, killing 50 people and wounding roughly 30 others. The shooter broadcast the slaying over Facebook Live until police apprehended him.

The New Zealand terror attack is the deadliest in the nation’s history.

Sri Lankan government officials suspect, because of the complexity of the Easter attack, that NTJ was assisted by outside terror organizations. Sri Lankan intelligence agencies received several warnings about NJT prior to the attack but failed to act.

“We saw the warnings and we saw the details given,” Sri Lankan Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne admitted afterward. “We are very very sorry, as a government we have to say — we have to apologize to the families and the institutions about this incident.”

Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena has invoked wartime powers and tasked the country’s military with arresting anyone suspected of plotting with or aiding the terrorists that carried out the attack.

ISIS claimed responsibility Tuesday for the Easter Sunday church and hotel bombings in Sri Lanka that killed more than 300 people.

The terrorist group did not provide evidence to support its claim.

“The perpetrators of the attack that targeted nationals of the countries of the coalitions and Christians in Sri Lanka before yesterday are fighters from the Islamic State,” its Aamaq news agency said according to a translation by the Associated Press cited by The New York Times.

At least 321 people are dead after Sunday’s attacks, reported TIME. Aamaq posted the bulletin after Sri Lankan minister of defense Ruwan Wijewardene claimed the attacks were a retaliation after 50 people were killed in mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The Sri Lankan government has blamed the Easter Sunday attacks on National Thowheed Jamath, a local jihadi group. Officials also said the group received international help, according to The NYT.

Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena granted wartime powers to the country’s military Monday to pursue and arrest suspects linked to the bombings. The country also blocked Facebook, Instagram and other forms of social media Sunday as it investigated the explosions.

Two prominent Democrats addressed the victims of the Sri Lankan church bombings that took place on Easter Sunday in a bizarre way which has upset many people on Twitter.

Both Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama refused to use the word ‘Christians’ when referring to the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, which currently has a death toll of up to 290, according to the BBC. The attack ended the relatively peaceful period that the country has enjoyed since the end of the civil war in 2009. Both notable Democratic figures referred to the victims as “Easter worshippers,” causing many to be upset that the pair didn’t acknowledge that this was a terrorist attack committed against Christians who were celebrating a religious holiday.

“On this holy weekend for many faiths, we must stand united against hatred and violence. I’m praying for everyone affected by today’s horrific attacks on Easter worshippers and travelers in Sri Lanka.”, said the former secretary of state on Twitter late Sunday morning.

Hillary’s refusal to acknowledge the fact the bombing victims were Christians didn’t sit well with Twitter users.

Former President Barack Obama also took a similar path as Hillary Clinton, completely refusing to acknowledge the fact that the victims were Christians saying, “The attacks on tourists and Easter worshippers in Sri Lanka are an attack on humanity. On a day devoted to love, redemption, and renewal, we pray for the victims and stand with the people of Sri Lanka,” to the dismay of many Twitter users including several notable Conservatives such musical artist Joy Villa, and political commentator at the Daily Wire, Michael Knowles.

One has to wonder – are Progressives so offended by the C-word that they can’t merely note the fact that Christians were victims of a terrorist attack because of the God they choose to worship? Can’t they acknowledge religious-based terrorism? Or does political correctness go so far that it prevents them from noting simple facts?

We at The Libertarian Republic mourn the loss of these innocent lives. We firmly believe that individuals should be free to practice their religious faith and that being free to do so is fundamental to a free and prosperous society. We condemn any acts that would suppress freedom of conscience and expression.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said several U.S. citizens died in the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka.

Terrorists killed over 200 people and wounded 450 others in Sri Lanka using coordinated explosive attacks on churches and hotels. Bombs erupted in churches in Negombo, Colombo and Batticaloa and in the hotels Shangri-La, Kingsbury and Cinnamon Grand.

“The United States condemns in the strongest terms the terror attacks in Sri Lanka on Easter morning,” Pompeo said Sunday in a statement. “Attacks on innocent people gathering in a place of worship or enjoying a holiday meal are affronts to the universal values and freedoms that we hold dear, and demonstrate yet again the brutal nature of radical terrorists whose sole aim is to threaten peace and security.”

Pompeo offered the U.S.’s deepest sympathy to the victims and families targeted in the attack. “The U.S. Embassy is working tirelessly to provide all possible assistance to the American citizens affected by the attacks and their families,” he said in the statement, adding:

“These vile attacks are a stark reminder of why the United States remains resolved in our fight to defeat terrorism. We stand with the Sri Lankan government and people as they confront violent extremism and have offered our assistance as they work to bring the perpetrators to justice.”

The U.S. condemns in the strongest terms the Easter morning terror attacks in Sri Lanka. These attacks demonstrate the brutal nature of terrorists whose sole aim is to threaten peace & security. We offer our deepest condolences and stand with the government & people of #SriLanka.

Sri Lanka blocked Facebook, Instagram and other forms of social media Sunday as the country investigates explosions that killed more than 200 people and injured another 400.

The decision to block social media was taken in reaction to false news reports spreading on social media following the bombings, the president’s secretary, Udaya Seneviratne, said in a press statement. The block will continue until officials conclude their investigation into the matter, media reports note.

Sri Lanka has struggle to stamp down sectarian violence. The government temporarily shut down Facebook and WhatsApp in 2018 to curb potential anti-Muslim violence. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe warned the public not to believe false information circulating about the bombings Sunday.

A Facebook representative confirmed the government had shut down the platform in the wake of the attacks. Much of the information about the attacks coming out of Sri Lanka are a result of people sharing photos on Facebook and other social media sites.

An explosion tore through St. Sebastian’s Church in the city of Negombo during an Easter service, with deadly blasts following in St. Anthony’s Shrine in the city of Colombo and Zion Church in Batticaloa. Members of St. Sebastian posted Facebook photos showing a sanctuary strewn with rubble, blood and the wounded. Bombs also detonated in the hotels Shangri-La, the Kingsbury and the Cinnamon Grand.

Facebook and Twitter were criticized in March for not acting fast enough to nix live videos of a shooter who killed roughly 50 people in a shooting spree in New Zealand. Critics claim the social media giants’ failure to police their airwaves immediately demonstrates their inability to look out for their users.

The New Zealand shooter’s video was viewed a total of 4,000 times before being removed from Facebook, according to the company. The social media site also removed about 1.5 million videos of the attack globally. More than 1 million of those videos were blocked at upload and were subsequently prevented from being seen.

Terrorists killed more than 200 Catholic worshipers and tourists on Easter Sunday morning in Sri Lanka with coordinated bombing attacks on churches and hotels.

The first explosion ripped through St. Sebastian’s Church in the city of Negombo at 8:45 a.m. local time during an Easter service, with deadly blasts following in St. Anthony’s Shrine in the city of Colombo and Zion Church in Batticaloa, The New York Times reported. Members of St. Sebastian posted photos of the aftermath on Facebook, showing a sanctuary strewn with rubble, blood and the wounded. Bombs also detonated in the hotels Shangri-La, the Kingsbury and the Cinnamon Grand.

The death toll rose to 189 people as of Sunday afternoon, according to Dr. Samiddhi Samarakoon, deputy director of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka.

“It was a river of blood,” said N. A. Sumanapala, a shopkeeper working near St. Sebastian’s who rushed to help survivors, according to NYT. “The priest came out and he was covered in blood.”

Sri Lankan authorities said it remains unclear who is responsible for the attacks, though they appear to have been coordinated and may have been carried out by suicide bombers.

The massive attack shattered the relative peace that Sri Lanka enjoyed since its long running civil war ended in 2009. While there have been other attacks on occasion, Sunday’s reached a new level of decimation. News of the explosions prompted other churches to shut down their Easter services and evacuate their buildings. Soldiers blocked off roads, volunteers rushed to donate blood and ambulances raced to tend the wounded all over Sri Lanka.

“Our phones were on silent, but one guy got a text about the bomb blast,” said Ranil Thilkaratne, who was attending service at a church in Colombo. “Then he alerted the priest. We stopped the service and moved out.”

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is leading Sri Lanka’s government while President Maithripala Sirisena is overseas, condemned the attack and urged the public not to disseminate any misinformation as officials carry out their investigation of the bombings.

Internet transmission reportedly slowed all over Sri Lanka following the attacks in what could be a government attempt to stem the tide of speculation.
